MONROVIA, SEPTEMBER 3, 2026: As one of the Liberian Government’s vital pillars of revenue generation for support the National Budget, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), has concluded a day-long practical exercise centered around 2026 Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) Evidence-Based Evaluation.

The activity was held at the Ministry’s central Monrovia head-office, attended by Directors and staff of the Ministry involved with ensuring that the Mines and Energy Ministry is on course with meeting its deliverables as far as the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) is concerned, espoused by the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.

Cabinet Secretariat executives are overseeing the PMCS, which is holding all Government of Liberia institutions accountable to the deliverables developed by them to achieve in consonance with the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).
The evaluation, conducted as part of the Government of Liberia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional performance, accountability, compliance, and results-oriented public service delivery, assessed the Ministry’s progress in implementing its commitments and delivering on its mandate.

The evidence-based exercise provided an opportunity to review the Ministry of Mines and Energy’s performance across key areas, including the implementation of programs and activities, institutional planning and coordination, service delivery, compliance, performance measurement, documentation, and the effective use of resources in support of national priorities.

The assessment also allowed the Ministry (MME), to demonstrate progress made during the reporting period, while identifying areas requiring further attention and improvement. The process is intended to strengthen internal systems, promote greater accountability, and ensure that institutional commitments are translated into measurable results for the Liberian people.

As a key institution responsible for the governance and management of Liberia’s mining and energy sectors, the Ministry of Mines and Energy recognizes the importance of effective performance management in advancing the Government’s broader development priorities.

The PMCS evaluation further underscores the importance of evidence-based performance, where institutions are assessed not only on commitments made, but on the extent to which those commitments are implemented, documented, monitored, and translated into tangible outcomes.

The Ministry appreciates the ongoing efforts of the Office of the Director General of the Cabinet and the PMCS framework in strengthening coordination, institutional effectiveness, compliance, and accountability across Government.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy assures the public that it remains committed to strengthening its systems and processes, improving institutional performance, and ensuring that its programs and activities contribute meaningfully to Liberia’s national development agenda.

For the Ministry, the PMCS is more than an evaluation exercise. It is an opportunity to reflect on performance, strengthen accountability, address gaps, and continuously improve the delivery of services and results to the people of Liberia.
