HON. AGATIUS B. COKER

Hon. Agatius B. Coker, is the current Inspector-General (IG) of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. IG Coker studied Sociology and Public Administration at the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) in Monrovia, Liberia, from where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2017. In addition, he has an Associate Degree (AA) in Theology and Bible History from Global University - 2008. He has shared his expertise with audiences around the world, delivering impactful insights aimed at empowering young people to become independent, creative, innovative, and confident in shaping their future.

Hon. Coker is a highly accomplished Chief Executive Officer, executive member of the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), a consultant, administrator, and leader with over two decades of expertise spanning various fields including business, the corporate sector, politics, advocacy, fashion and creative design, Scrap trading/marketing, and has also worked in Liberia’s Oil and Gas Sector as a successful entrepreneur.

Inspector-General Coker, envisages a violation-free mining sector in Liberia whereby Miners and those ambitious of involvement with the Country’s mineral resources can conduct themselves properly, conscious of their legitimate participation in this dedicated business arena, knowing that legal business transaction accounts for generation of lawful revenue the Country needs to finance national development programs that allow for building a vibrant economy with endless possibilities of job opportunities for all Liberians.

In overseeing the affairs of the Inspectorate Division, IG Coker is ably assisted by the Deputy Inspector-General, and the office Administrator in ensuring the presence of mineral inspectors in all of the six mining regions of the Country to keep Miners in compliance and strict adherence to the Minerals and Mining Law, as well as the Mining Regulations.
